The promise of "the fullness of God" was made to
the church or covenant people
ONLY. If God had blessed ALL saved people with ALL
spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Eph
1:3), then ALL saved people would be in the bride of
Christ. Because, in that case, there would be nothing left
for the bride that all saved people would not already have
guaranteed to them. Conversely, though the unfaithful
saved and non-covenant saved are saved eternally they will
receive NO REWARDS and NO INHERITANCE
WHATEVER, I Cor 3:14-15; Gal 4:21-31; II Jn 8; Rev
3:11; Ezek 3:20; 18:24; 33:13; Mt 13:12; 25:28-29; Mk
4:25; Lk 8:18; 19:26.
Observe also that receiving "the fullness of
God" is stated as conditional -- not something already
possessed, but something to be gained by faithful service
in the church which is the body of Christ, Eph 1:1,22-23;
3:19; Col 2:9-23; II Pet 1:3-4-10; et al. Receiving the
fullness of God concerns our bodies and the firstborn
sonship of Christ, Eph 1:22-23; 3:19; Col 1:19; 2:9--3:11;
Eph 4:22-24. The covenant people stand within the
firstborn sonship of Christ and are called God's firstborn
ones, Ex 4:22-23; Heb 12:23; Rom 8:29. This is currently a
training arena where the covenant people must qualify by
grace through faith in order to obtain and share in the
firstborn sonship of Christ after the resurrection.
Furthermore, since the fullness of God is
promised only to the faithful in
the body of Christ, it requires baptism into the body of
Christ as the circumcision of Christ. This is a covenant
requirement (Col 2:9-17) which further requires the daily
putting off of the old man and the putting on of the new
man, Col 2:9--3:11; Rom 6:2-13; I Cor 12:12-13; Gal 3:27;
Eph 4:22-24. The "old man" is the mere flesh body
of the first Adam, while the "new man" is the new
glorified (spirit) body of Christ as the second Adam, I
Cor 15:44-50. The unfaithful and non-covenant saved will
receive a sinless and perfect body after the Millennium,
but will never receive the new glorified, spirit body,
which possesses the fullness of God.
The "new man" was created "IN Christ
Jesus" (Eph 2:10-15; II Cor 5:16-17; Rom 6:2-13; Gal 3:27;
Col 2:11-21), and can be found only "IN Christ," II
Cor 5:17; Gal 6:15; I Cor 15:44-50. Scriptural baptism is
by grace through faith (Col 2:12) and is the circumcision
of Christ which puts us into the church which
metaphorically is the body of Christ, Col 2:11-21; Gal
3:27; Rom 6:3-4.
